Wanryu Ramen 王龍ラーメン in Takamatsu, Kawaga
There are countless Ramen shops in Japan and usually we don’t really research on them beforehand. Instead, we would just hop into one whenever we felt like having some ramen.
This time, we hopped into Wanryu Ramen (王龍ラーメン) over at Takamatsu in Kagawa as it is located near to the Dormy Inn Hotel that we were staying in.
As always, our order is the shop’s specialty, the chef recommended shoyu ramen with pork slices. Wanryu ramen has thick broth which is to our liking and the barbecue pork slice were fatty and sweet too. We like these kind of thin yellow noodles and cooked to a soft texture, similar to the Ichiran style.
Then we saw this poster and couldn’t resist to try it. Apparently this is a Kagawa local delight.
Chicken sashimi with vinegar is something new to us but we were surprised to find that we actually enjoyed it. The chicken meat were thinly sliced and flame barbecued quickly to get the skin slightly roasted. The inner meat remains raw and pink. Chicken sashimi is a great appetiser and goes well with an ice cold beer.
Wanryu Ramen is a good find and we totally enjoyed the meals. If you happened to be in Takamatsu, do give it a try. The shop is found near the main shopping street.
