Saw a post on facebook that is so hilarious. This was shared by a visitor to a market in Meguro. Before buying the eggs, make sure to choose the healthiest hen, examine the photos of the hen and make your choice. Will it be Momiji-san, Yuri-san, or Sakura-san? 🤣🤣🤣

I am not sure if I ever cared about which hen laid the eggs that goes onto my plate at all. But it is so funny to see such marketing technique being used in Japanese market.
This is probably only possible in small farms, where the farmers can keep track of which eggs belonged to which hen. In modern farms, these domestic fowls are mostly kept in extreme confined cages in the hundreds, and eggs are collected on fast moving conveyor belts.
Another only in Japan moment.
