If you had visited the major cities in Japan, chances are you had seen this popular restaurant Isomaru Suisan (磯丸水産) near your hotel or train stations. With over 150 branches across Japan, Isomaru Suisan has some of the best seafood to offer for visitors. Most outlets in the city open 24 hours and is a great option for dinner and supper option.
We visited the Isomaru Suisan Akihabara branch, conveniently located just 2 minutes walk from the JR Akihabara station, for a dinner. It is hard to miss the elaborated signboard and live seafood display at the entrance of the shop.

Each table comes with a grill and after ordering, we can start to grill the seafood ourselves. Shellfish and prawns bigger than your face is highly recommended. Squids, clams, other fish are really fresh and yummy too. An ice cold Sapporo beer is a must too!
If you are lazy to grill your own food, you can also order cooked food too, like some deep fried small fish, chicken karaage, and others.
Isomaru Suisan is a good option especially for tourists who want to experience a japanese Izakaya style dining. This chain restaurant is tourists friendly with different languages menu and ordering of food is simple even if you do not speak Japanese.
Do take note, there is not a lot of ventilation in the shop and you will likely leave with lots of smoke smell. Recommend to remove your coat (if any) and put them into a bag before entering.
